The world abloom

This week ain't no rain or cloudy skies gonna get in the way of us an' the sun.
Our days are long and languid, with slow meals, sun-drenched armchairs and plenty of wine.
      You can't slow down time,
           but you can  s l o w   d  o  w  n .

Marchons !

One of my favorite parts of the workday is the commute à pied. In fact, foot-travelin's been the highlight of our stay here. Walking, one takes in the details of life: the bright blooming forsythia, the crows combing the field, the old woman having coffee at her window above the train tracks, the endless piles of dogshit sur le trottoir (y'always gotta keep an eye out), and of course, the cadence of the breath.

This is my daily walk to school.

 

Fun fact: you can find kitty curtains on any given block in France.

 

Let's wrap up winter

Before we do away altogether with the winter, here's the last bit of snow I have to post.

Few weeks ago we went hiking at La Planche des Belles Filles, which has a lot of belles trees.

Okay, now let's move on...to spring!
